Noob Question: PvP/RPG Mode? - Guild Wars Forums

Just started...was wondering whats the diffrence between PvP and RPG Mode? and what are "unique" items, also, what other stuff should i read about before playing? sorry if these have been answered, but the search button doesn't work (something about server overload or something)

PvP: Player vs. Player. No storyline, different modes. Basic PvP matches consist of killing the other team. In a GvG (Guild vs Guild) You must kill their Guild Lord. In HA (Hero's Ascent) Theres many types of PvP.

PvE/RPG: Following a storyline, your char starts at lvl 1. You go through the story with other players defeating computerized mobs of enemies.

Im guessing by unique item you mean green item. A green item is an item that drops from some bosses and the stats arew always the same.

For PvE just play through the game, you will learn new stuff as you go on.

Once i hit cap level in RPG, will i be able to PvP in RPG mode? or do i have to switch to PvP mode?

Your PvE characters are allowed to PvP. You can switch to a PvP char for better items if you have them unlocked.
